This comes into
play for Round Robins only, you don’t generally need to sign into
your own book…
I love sign-in pages, both in my books and those of other artists.
It’s a wonderful dollop of art from those working in your book, an
opportunity to gather in one spot everyone’s “signature”. Creative
sign-in pages are inspiration for your fellow book alterers, getting
the whole project off to a good start. I have seen beautiful and
clever pages using library pockets, tiny envelopes, tags of paper or
metal or laminate samples, doors and niches, mini-books—be
inventive!

“Garden” is a
straightforward envelope filled with tags on what is also the
routing page: the names and addresses of all the participants
are printed and adhered around the envelope. |
| “Foreign Text” is
a mini-book adhered to the left edge of a two-page spread, in
which each participant is invited to add both her name and
her thoughts. |

“Embracing the Stranger”
is glassine envelopes with small tags inside, over an acrylic
paint background and embellished with 3-D bugs and lizards. |
A final word: your sign-in
shouldn’t be a great deal of extra work. Artists are already
creating at least two 2-page collage spreads in your book, the
sign-in should be a small personal memento type of addition.
